Auditions for ONLY THE TWO LEAD ROLES May 29 and May 30 at 7pm at the theater

Auditions for the two lead roles in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel, will be held at the theater at 7pm on Sunday May 29, and Monday May 30. We need to be sure we can find the right people for these pivotal roles before we contract for the show. If you are interested in the role of Billy Bigelow or Julie Jordan, please come to one of these auditions. Auditions for only the lead roles in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel to be held at the Village Players Theater, 51 Glendon Street. Auditions for other roles will be held in early August.
Billy Bigelow is the star of this show. He must be a strong tenor/baritone with strong acting abilities and must appear to be between 25 and 30ish. He carries the show for most of the time and appears in nerly every scene. This is the role of a lifetime for the right person..He sings "If I Loved You", "Blow High, Blow Low", the famous "Soliloquy", and "The Highest Judge of All ". His Voice range must be from As (bottom space in the F clef score) to G4 (the highest space in the F clef score). These are the words that describe him: rogue impulsive, passionate, lonely, rough, hapless, volatile, swagger, sympathetic, charming, ladies’man, strapping, handsome, manly,remorseful, brash, tough,aggressive, sensitive.
Julie Jordan co-stars with Billy. She must have an operatic type soprano voice and be a strong actress. She must appear to be between 17 and 25. Her voice range must be between C4 (middle C) and G6 (the line above the staff in the G clef). She sings "If I Loved You", "What's the Use of Wondrin'", "You're a Queer One, Julie Jordan", and other songs with the chorus. These are the words that describe her: passionate, loyal, longing, shy, dreamer, quiet strength, loner, restless, sensitive, obstinate.

Show performances will be November 11, 12, 13, and 18, 19, 20. Sunday performances are at 2pm. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm.
